Episode Eighty Two: Reflections on Synod from Cory Nederveld (Part 2)
from: https://www.hillcrestcrc.org/staff-pastor-cory.html
Pastor Cory joined the pastoral staff of Hillcrest CRC in the fall of 2020. Prior to his time at Hillcrest he held positions as an associate, youth, and lead pastor in two other West Michigan churches.
In his early years, Pastor Cory lived just a few blocks from Hillcrest. He has deep roots in the community of Hudsonville. Cory graduated from Hudsonville High School before receiving degrees from Davenport University and Grace Christian University. He received his M.Div from Calvin Theological Seminary.
Cory loves working with people of all ages, but has a particular heart for teens and young adults. He sees his life’s work as helping them know, love, and serve Jesus and believes that there is no greater joy than seeing others walk with Him. He loves to preach, teach, and lead God’s people to become fully-formed followers who live for a mission bigger than themselves and see beauty in joining in the work of the church. Pastor Cory is also the executive director of Rooted (rootedyoungadults.com), a non-profit sponsored by various churches, which ministers to young adults in West Michigan.
He loves to spend time with his wife Jackie and his 3 boys (Logan, Hunter, and Dylan). When he’s not busy with family and ministry he also loves to play basketball, softball, disc golf, ultimate frisbee and really enjoys obscure lawn games. Kubb is one of his favorites!
