Who Are We?
We started The Messy Reformation because we love the Christian Reformed Church and we want to see reformation in our denomination. We also recognize that whenever reformation has happened, throughout the history of the church, things get messy.
So, we created a podcast to have conversations with pastors throughout the CRC to talk about what's happening in our denomination, but also to discuss what reformation might look like. We are publishing theses podcasts every Monday.
We created this website as a way to build community around our podcast and develop a space to produce more content. We plan on publishing a blog post every Wednesday. These posts will cover topics we've discussed on the podcast, aspects of pastoral ministry in a season of reformation, and ways we can learn from past reformations.

Our Team
Jason Ruis - Founder/Cohost
Jason Ruis is the Lead Pastor at Faith Community CRC in Beaver Dam, WI. He and his wife Rachel are raising four competitive daughters who keep them busy running to track meets, soccer games, volleyball matches, and hockey arenas. Jason has a passion for helping people understand God’s Word: how it applies to their daily lives and equips them to glorify God in everything they do.
Willy Krahnke - Cohost
William Krahnke is a member of Pease CRC in Pease, MN. He is a worship leader, deacon nominee, a 2-time Young Adult Representative to Synod, plays in a local band, and works as a Production Associate at a saw mill. He and his wife were married September 17 and currently live in Princeton, MN. He also serves in volunteer youth ministry at his church, and loves discipling teenagers and young adults. His passion is to be a beacon of light wherever he does ministry and to help bring reformation to the CRC.
Dan De Graff - Website Content
Dan De Graff is the pastor of Baldwin CRC in Baldwin, WI. He is married to Christie and dad to three daughters (Addison, Feya, and Gwen) and a son (Brooks). He enjoys fishing (open water and ice) whenever he gets a chance. Dan’s passions are preaching and teaching God’s Word as well as educating people about Reformed theology.
Trevor Mouw - Social Media
Trevor Mouw lives in Sioux Center, Iowa, with his wife and 3 kids. He is a high school Bible and Theology teacher and a part-time exhorter, currently filling the vacant pulpit at 1st CRC Orange City since February. Trevor is a seminarian at Calvin Theological Seminary.
